Mr Robert Camilleri
Mr Robert Camilleri completed his BSc (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy in 1996. Over the years he has gained extensive experience in clinical, institutional, and outpatient settings. He has, since, worked in various areas within the public and private Health Sectors. Robert’s areas of interest currently include rheumatology, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, exercise therapy, and health promotion.
“Good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment”. Robert considers this to be the embodiment of his professional career as well as life in general.
Throughout these years Robert has been involved in mentoring junior members of staff as well as students. He has multiple interests in both clinical and managerial aspects of physiotherapy. He has been supervising the coordination of physiotherapy service provision to rheumatology patients for the past 15 years as part of the musculoskeletal services offered on an outpatient basis at the public health sector. In order to keep abreast with evidence-based practices and knowledge, Robert attends various courses and conferences, both in Malta and overseas.
Within the private sector, Robert’s clinical interests include management of musculoskeletal injuries, conditions associated with the aging client, education and exercise programming for clients with eating disorders and obesity in addition to health promotion and well-being practices at different places of work. In recent years he has also introduced TAMARS® Spinal Health to the Maltese Islands as well the BOD POD® taking Advanced Body Composition Analysis to another level.
Robert will soon be reading for a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Culture to learn more about traditional Chinese medicine as a form of therapy and how this complements modern western clinical practice.
